TOWN COUNCIL ACCOUNTS 2003/04

Further to the Finance and General Purposes Committee meeting held on 15th June, 2004, the Mayor to sign the end of year accounts.
 10.2 Members to receive a copy of the Annual Return and authorise the Mayor and Town Clerk to sign Section 2 - Statement of Assurance.

PERIODIC ELECTROL REVIEW OF ESSEX COUNCIL COUNCIL: FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Further to minute 77 of the Town Council meeting held on 15th September, 2003 members are informed that notification has been received from the Boundary Commission for England that its final recommendations for the Essex County Council electoral arrangements have been published. It is recommended that Essex County Council should have 75 Councillors representing 70 divisions with changes to division boundaries in order to improve electoral equality. The final recommendations can be viewed at Essex County Council and local District Council offices, in local libraries or on the website www.boundarycommittee.org.uk.

Maldon Parishes Group Liaison Meeting

Further to minute 18.2 of the Town Council meeting held on 10th May, 2004 members are remaindered that the next Parish Liaison meeting will be held on Tuesday, 27th July, 2004 in the Town Hall, Maldon commencing at 7.30 p.m. and that the Town Mayor will be in the Chair. Should members wish to include an item on the agenda please forward details to the Chief Corporate Services Officer, Maldon District Council no later than Friday, 9th July, 2004.

In accordance with Standing Order 14 to consider the following resolution by Cllr. D. Keighley:

"That the Cinema Working Party be asked to examine the possibility of arranging for a third party to show films to the general public in Maldon."

Audit of Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour

To receive and consider a letter from the Anti-Social Behaviour Coordinator, Maldon District Community Safety Partnership regarding an audit of Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour.

 15.2 Training Event

To receive a report from Cllr. Jennings regarding his attendance at a Training Event held on 1st July, 2004.
 16. ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL - "COUNTY AND PARISH: A REPORT ON WORKING TOGETHER FOR THE FUTURE OF ESSEX"

To receive and consider the document from Essex County Council, "County and Parish - A report on working together for the future of Essex". Copy circulated to all members with the letter of the Town Clerk dated 29th May, 2004. Members to note that the Essex Association of Local Councils played an active role within the group responsible for the production of the document and would be pleased to receive a copy of any comments made by the Town Council regarding this document.

It would be appreciated if you would please bring your copy ofthe document to the meeting.
 17. MALDON DISTRICT COUNCIL - ENERGY STRATEGY: PUBLIC CONSULTATION

To receive and consider a letter and document from the Maldon District Council, "Energy Strategy: Public Consultation". Copy circulated to all members with the letter of the Town Clerk dated 14th June, 2004 and it would be appreciated if you would please bring your copy of the document to the meeting.
 18. MALDON VICTORIAN EVENINGS

To receive and consider a letter from the Chairman, Organising Committee, Maldon Chamber of Trade and Commerce regarding Victorian Evenings.

Members are also informed that a donation in the sum of 700 had been received from the Maldon Chamber of Trade and Commerce for their "chosen good causes" which last year were Maldon in Bloom and Christmas Lights.  19. WINTER SERVICE REVIEW

To receive and consider a letter from the Maintenance Policy Engineer, Highways and Transportation, Essex County Council regarding a winter service review.

 20 HERITAGE OPEN DAY

Members are informed that Heritage Open Days this year will be held on Saturday, 11th and Sunday, 12th September, 2004 and the Moot Hall will be open for tours over this weekend. As in the past, it would be greatly appreciated if members were available to assist in manning the building whilst tours are being undertaken.

Further to minute 164.2 of the Town Council meeting held on 5th April, 2004 to receive the following letter of thanks from The Rev. Canon David Atkins regarding Ascension Day:

Many thanks for your help on Ascension Day. All those who came have made comments along the lines of "It gave a whole new meaning to the day!" As an experiment it seems to have worked.

Could you therefore pass on my thanks to the appropriate Committee for allowing us access to the Moot Hall. It was much appreciated and express our hope that we may be able to repeat the experience on Ascension Day 2005 (May 5th!)
 26. 250 YEARS OF CRICKET IN MALDON
