|| BUS SHELTERS
Notification has been received from Essex County Council, Highways informing of their intention to replace the footpath outside All Saints' Church later in the year. During the discussion it was realised that the bus shelter in this location would need to be replaced. As the site is on a Quality Bus Partnership route the Essex County Council would replace the bus shelter at no cost to the Town Council but the Town Council would be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the shelter. In this respect, members are requested to consider two designs, as suggested by the ECC, for a replacement shelter.
|| MARKET HILL GARDEN
The Town Council's Ground Maintenance Contractor recently reported that shrubs had been removed adjacent to the boundary wall of the garden to enable the wall to be rebuilt by the owner of the adjacent property. For information the Mayor visited the site and spoke to the builders who were unaware that they were trespassing and damaging Town Council property.
It is suggested that a letter be sent to the resident of the property requesting that they compensate the Town Council for the cost to re-plant the area with mature shrubs.
|| LEECH MEMORIAL GARDEN
Members are informed that a concerned local resident has reported that the Leech Memorial Garden is having increased problems with litter. The only litterbin at the site is often overflowing although emptied on a regular basis. In this respect, members are requested to consider installing an additional litterbin at the site. A local resident has also suggested that consideration should be given to forming a "Friends of Leech Memorial Garden" group.
