  6. PROMENADE PARK

With reference to the Council meeting held on 31 July 2006, at which the Chief Executive of the District Council undertook to inform the Town Council ofthe final financial position of the Promenade Park contract, members to receive a copy of the relevant report and minute of the MDC Community Services Committee

  7. POST OFFICE NETWORK CONSULTATION

Postwatch has alerted local councils to a consultation by the Department of Trade & Industry on the future of the post office network and has identified the key proposals. A copy of the full consultation document is available from the Council Office. Responses are due by 8 March 2007.

  8. DR PLUME'S CHARITY

Further to Council minutes 108 & 139, to note that further correspondence has been received from the Plume Librarian expressing concern regarding an item in the Maldon Standard published on 27 December 2006.

  9. MALDON DISTRICT MUSEUM ASSOCIATION

To consider a request from the Association for the temporary loan of the maquette of Byrhtnoth for the Maldon Heroes Exhibition which will run from 28 March - 31 October 2007 at the Promenade Lodge.

Donation for Christmas Lights
To receive and consider a letter from the Chamber regarding the Christmas lights. (copy herewith - members only)
 11.2 Town Centre Management Service

To receive and consider a letter from the Chamber regarding the Town Centre Management Service which requests that the Town Council to consider whether members' wish to see the survival of the Town Centre Management Board and, if so, to consider funding the post in future financial years.

 12. RESOLUTION FROM COUNCILLOR KEIGHLEY

To consider the following Resolution from Cllr. Keighley:

"That Council review the following unfinished business and decide what action, if any, should be taken before the Council's 4 year term of office ends in May 2007:
 12.1 Leech Memorial Garden

a. Search files for original bequest.
b. If not found consult solicitors on what use the Council can make of the earmarked funds of approximately 12,000 in the bank account.

 12.3 Remembrance Sunday

Decide on and notify Heybridge Parish Council of the revised arrangements.
 12.4 Town Hall Hire Charges

(i) Determine the hire charges to be applied to:
a. The Maldon Promenaders

(ii) Review policy of letting outside approved hours
 12.5 Quorum at Committee Meeting

Resolve matter with NALC and amend Standing Orders if necessary.

Negotiate full and final settlement with present contractor.

To receive correspondence regarding an offer to attend a Council meeting.

Maldon District Community Safety Partnership Conference on 1 March 2007, 10.00am - 4.30 pm. This event will review progress on the three year Community Safety Strategy (2005 -08)
 17. SERVICE FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Members are informed that an invitation has been received from the Chairman of Essex County Council, for all Councillor and Clerks (including partners) regarding a special Civic Service to be held at Chelmsford Cathedral on Friday 27th April, 2007 commencing at 7.30 p.m. This Service will be a wonderful opportunity for all involved in Local Government to meet together and reaffirm the important links between our Christian heritage and the tradition of Civic Service in our Country.

 18. ESSEX SCHOOL ORGANISATION PLAN 2006 - 2010

Members are informed that a copy of the above document has been received in the office or is available on the Essex County Council website at www.essexcc.gov.uk under Learning, Schools, Planning (school places), the Essex School Organisation Plan. This Plan replaces the plan for 2005-2010.
