  8. MALDON DISTRICT CONSERVATION AND DESIGN AWARDS 2006

A letter has been received from the Conservation Officer, Maldon District Council regarding the Conservation and Design Awards. Members are invited to consider the nomination of a Town Council representative to join the Judging Panel for this year's Awards.
  9. POST BOX, MALDON HIGH STREET

To consider whether a complaint should be made to the Royal Mail regarding the closure of the post box outside the former Post Office, High Street, Maldon.
 10. TRANSITION PLANNING IN MID ESSEX - COMMISSIONING

To receive and consider information and questionnaire from the Director of Commissioning, Chelmsford Primary Care Trust and Witham, Braintree and Halstead NHS Care Trust regarding the reorganisation of primary care trusts in England.

 11. COMBINED MILITARY SERVICES MUSEUM

To receive and consider a letter from the Curator, Combined Military Services Museum requesting the Town Council's support for an application to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a grant to build an extension to the Museum.

 12. POLICE STRUCTURES REVIEW - CONSULTATION

Members are informed that a Police Structures Review - Community Consultation is to be held on Tuesday, 25th July in the Town Hall commencing at 7.30 p.m. A questionnaire regarding the implications of planned changes to the policing structure for the communities of Essex is available from the office should members wish to complete a copy.
 13. COMMUNITY TRANSPORT

A letter has been received from the Director of the Maldon & District Council for Voluntary Service requesting the Town Council's views on Community Transport, especially as there are concerns regarding the continuation of funding for the Dengie Village Link bus service.

As a joint initiative between Maldon Council for Voluntary Services and the Rural Community Council of Essex a survey is being conducted on the provision of Community Transport (either by Minibus or a Social Car Scheme) throughout Maldon District. The aim is to identify whether any geographical areas or user groups/persons are not, for any reason, receiving the service that meets their needs. The ultimate goal is to try and address any shortfall, should this prove t be the case.
 14. ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL COMMUNITY INITIATIVES FUND - SECOND ROUND 2006/07

To receive and consider whether the Town Council wishes to apply for a grant from the Community Initiative Fund. A copy of the guidance notes is attached for information.

 15. BUCKINGHAM PALACE GARDEN PARTY

Notification has been received from the EALC regarding the allocation of tickets for the Buckingham Palace Garden Party being held in July 2007. The Lord Chamberlain has taken the view that invitations are in recognition of past service and that outgoing members rather than those newly elected should be invited to attend. In this respect the nomination of a Mayor should be received at the EALC by 5th September, 2006 and the luck recipients will be drawn at the EALC, AGM on 20th September, 2006.
 16. HERITAGE OPEN DAYS 2006

Notification has been received from the Conservation Officer, Maldon District Council stating that the Heritage Open Days for 2006 have been cancelled. The event will be reintroduced in 2007.
