To receive and consider the minutes of the Environment Committee meeting held on 25th September, 2006.
(copy circulated with the agenda for the Town Council meeting held on 16th October, 2006)
To receive a verbal report from Mrs. Good regarding a recent allotment inspection.
|| Warwick Crescent Allotment Site - Plot 1a
Further to minute of the 30.2.a. of the Environment Committee meeting held on 11th September, 2006 to receive a report from Mrs. Good regarding the condition of the plot.
|| Brickhouse Farm - Shed
To receive a consider a request from the tenant of plots 10 and 11 at the Brickhouse Farm allotment site for the installation of a 6ft. x 4ft. wooden shed on plot 10. A copy of the plan showing the location of the shed will be available at the meeting.
|| BBC Essex Radio
Members are informed that BBC Essex Radio conducted an outside broadcast from the Maldon Hall allotment site on Friday 13th October, 2006. Cllr. Ken Smith was present.
|| Questions from the Maldon and Heybridge Horticultural Society
|| MALDON IN BLOOM
To receive and consider the Notes of the Maldon in Bloom Working Party meeting held on 4th October, 2006.
|| BUDGET REQUIREMENT
a) To note expenditure against budget to 16 October 2006
b) To receive and consider a report regarding the budget requirement for 2007/2008.
|| CROMWELL PUMP
Further to minute 23 of the Environment Committee meeting held on 22nd August, 2006 to receive and consider a quotation for a 3mm thick A3 plaque in brass with engraved inscription and bronze finish. To note that other companies have been contacted but to date no response has been received.

|| ST. PETER'S CHURCHYARD
Members are informed that a rough estimate of £500 has been received from the Maldon District Council regarding the design work for interpretation boards at St. Peter's Churchyard. The installation of these boards is required to comply with the conditions of the Heritage Lottery grant. Members are requested to agree a budget of £500.00 for the design work.
|| POETS ESTATE
Further to minute 34 of the Environment Committee meeting held on 25th September, 2006 to:
a. Receive the Minutes of a Special Committee meeting of the Poets Estate Residents' Association held on 5th October, 2006.

b. In response to a request for information on the banning of ball games on green spaces, a Maldon District Council Officer noted that the District Council has Bye Laws for areas of land which are its responsibility but this does not include a total ban on ball games, only for care to be taken in areas where other public activities were being undertaken. He felt that areas of green were incorporated into residential estates as play areas for children. He suggested that the Community Police should be involved if matters worsen and trespass or damage to properties occurred.
|| BUS SHELTER
To receive and consider a letter from a resident regarding the installation of a bus shelter in Mundon Road, Maldon. Members to note that should they wish to erect a shelter, funding will need to be included within the Estimate Requirement for 2007/2008.
