Pursuant to Section 15(c) of the Local Government Act 1972 and further to Minute 126 of the Town Council Estimates Meeting held on 3rd December, 2007 to note that:

The Mayor's allowance has been set at 3,000.00 for the 2008/2009 mayoral year.

Finance and General Purposes Committee - (Evenings - 7.30 p.m.)
This committee shall comprise of:
The Town Mayor and Deputy Town Mayor (Ex-officio) and seven other members.

To note the first meeting of this committee is to be held on Monday, 16th June, 2008 commencing at 7.30 p.m. in the Committee Room.

This committee shall comprise of:
The Town Mayor and Deputy Town Mayor (Ex-officio) and seven other members.

To note the first meeting of this committee is to be held on Tuesday, 13th May, 2008 commencing at 7.30 p.m. in the Committee Room.

This committee shall comprise of:
The Town Mayor and Deputy Town Mayor (Ex-officio) and seven other members.

To appoint members to serve on the Maldon in Bloom Working Party. To note that it would be preferable if these members also served on the Environment Committee as Maldon in Bloom is part of this committee's remit.

To appoint five members to serve upon the Quality Status Working Party.

 16.1 Blackwater Estuary Siltation Steering Group (2 representatives - Evenings)

The Town Mayor and Deputy Mayor are President and Vice President of the Association and there is an official visit from Thursday 19th June to Monday 23rd June 2008. The Twinning AGM is being held on Wednesday 14th May, 2008 in the Town Hall and representatives will be expected to attend.

Reports

HEALTH MATTERS

Feeling Good .in the Maldon District Improving Health and Well-Being
To receive a joint invitation from Maldon District Local Strategic Partnership and Mid Essex Primary Care Trust to attend an event to be held on Wednesday, 21st May, 2008 at the Three Rivers Golf and Country Club, Cold Norton between noon and 4.30 pm. The event will focus on health and well-being issues, learning what the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and other recent research have shown to be priorities for the District and working together to identify potential partnership projects to improve this area of people's lives within the District.
 21.2 Shaping The Development Of Healthcare Services In Maldon
To receive an invitation from Mid Essex NHS - Primary Care Trust to attend a stakeholders meeting to be held on Thursday, 22nd May, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital commencing at 1.30 p.m. The meeting is to informally discuss future proposed developments and timescales to reflect local needs. For Maldon specifically, the plan includes a new community hospital, a new surgery at Heybridge and reprovision of the Blackwater Surgery. In moving forward with these developments they would like to establish a "Health Services in Maldon Group" which would oversee the various work streams associated with these development.
 22. MALDON CRICKET CLUB

Further to minute117 of the Town Council meeting held on 4th February, 2008 to note that a Certificate of Appreciation has been received from Maldon Cricket Club to acknowledge the Town Council's support by including an advertisement within the 2008 Handbook.

SUPPORT FUNDING FOR OTHER ORGANISATIONS

Public Conveniences in the Town

Maldon District Council has decided to reopen the public conveniences at White Horse Lane pending a review of the provision of public conveniences in the District which will take place later in the year. The District Council has asked whether the Town Council would be willing to make a contribution towards the running costs of these premises during the interim period.

To receive and consider a grant application form and supporting papers from the Maldon Promotions Group.
