With reference to the Planning Committee, to consider suspending Standing Order 37(b) for the municipal year 2007-08 as the Deputy Mayor does not wish to take up his ex-officio place on that Committee. This will enable another member to be appointed to that Committee which should obviate the difficulties encountered in achieving a quorum.

Anti Social Behaviour and Youth Offending Sub Group
To consider the appointment of a member to attend meetings of the above group.

Due to low turnout of Councillors in attendance at the Finance and General Purposes Committee meeting held on 5th June, 2007 it was agreed that the following items should be considered by Council:

To receive and consider a questionnaire from the NALC regarding the suggestion to establish a Regional networking group to focus on the Quality Parish and Town Council Scheme.

 15. MALDON DISTRICT PLAY STRATEGY

To receive and consider a letter from the Leisure and Liveability Officer, Maldon District council regarding funding for the development of play.

 16. CONSULTATION ON PROPOSALS FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES IN NORTH ESSEX

Notification received of a public consultation on proposals for the future of mental health services on behalf of all three North Essex PCTs. Tom Kelly is the Town Council representative on matters relating to health.

 17. BUCKINGHAM PALACE GARDEN PARTY

Notification has been received from the EALC regarding the allocation of tickets for the Buckingham Palace Garden Party being held in 2008. The Lord Chamberlain has taken the view that invitations are in recognition of past service and it is therefore appropriate that councils should nominate a Chairman (Parish Council) or Mayor (Town Council) having given "service of recognition" to their community. Nominations are required by 5th September, 2007 and the draw will be made at the EALC AGM on 19th September, 2007.
