  6. APPOINTMENT OF A TRUSTEE TO THE THOMAS MARTIN SMITH

Further to minute 105.3 to consider the appointment of a Trustee to serve on the Thomas Martin Smith Charity, which benefits the poor in the Parish of St. Mary's, for a four year period.

 10. STRATEGIC ACTION GROUP FOR MALDON TOWN

At the request of the Mayor and Cllrs. Bunkell, Hawkins and Mrs. Riesebeck to approve the formation of a Working Party for a three month period to consider proposals for revitalising the economy of the High Street.
 11. REVIEW OF CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES 2008

 13. STANDARDS BOARD FOR ENGLAND

To note that research is being undertaken on satisfaction with advice and guidance given by the Standards Board for England. Two survey forms have been issued to the Town Council, one for the Town Clerk to complete and one for a councillor who will be chosen in a way specified by the research company to ensure that there is a legitimate random selection. All responses are anonymous.

In accordance with s.1 of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 to resolve that in view of the confidential nature of the business to be discussed it is in the opinion of the Committee advisable in the public interest that the public and press be temporarily excluded and they be instructed to withdraw.
 22. PRINT OF EDWARD BRIGHT

A mezzotint of Edward Bright is to be auctioned at Christies on 25th February, 2009; the guide price is 300-400. Members are invited to consider whether the Council should bid for the print to add to the collection in the Moot Hall and if so to agree the upper limit for the bid.
