  6. BRICKHOUSE FARM ALLOTMENT SITE LEASE

Further to minute 49.3 of the Environment Committee meeting held on 10th February, 2009, to receive and consider a lease from Maldon District Council for the allotment site, including extensions, at Brickhouse Farm. The lease is on the same terms as the existing lease, except it is for 25 years. A deed of surrender for the remaining period on the existing lease will also need to be signed. If members are minded to approve the lease, it will be signed by the Town Mayor.

POWER OF WELL BEING

To receive a report on the new legal power of well being

 9.2 To consider whether the Town Council wishes to put in place the training required to fulfil one of the criteria necessary to be able to adopt the power. Training can take place in-house, supplied by EALC @ approximately 500 for all 15 members
 10. STANDARDS BOARD OF ENGLAND

To consider the advice of the SBE to Councils to adopt procedures for notifications from the SBE as part of the Council's rules, constitution or scheme of delegation.

SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES

Sustainable Communities Act
To consider the invitation from the District Council to put forward proposals to promote sustainability. The deadline for submissions is 27 March 2009

To note that the District Council has published its Sustainable Community Strategy. Leaflets will be available for members at the meeting. Two copies of the full strategy document have been received and may be borrowed from the Town Council office.
