|| Planning Committee
Further to minutes 14.2 of the Annual Council meeting held on 12th May, 2008 to consider the appointment of two members to serve on the Planning Committee for the remainder of the Municipal Year. Members are reminded that the Planning meeting held on 9th June was not quorate and additional members are required to serve on this committee.

Maldon District Chamber of Commerce
At the Annual Council meeting held on 12th May, 2008 it was Resolved that Cllrs. Hawkins, Savage and Wilsdon represent the Town Council at meeting of the Maldon District Chamber of Commerce (minute 16.8 refers).

|| Maldon District Hospital Group
To consider the appointment of a member to represent the Town Council on the Maldon District Hospital Group.
|| Essex and Southend Link - Inaugural Public Meeting
To consider whether the Town Council should be represented at the Inaugural Public Meeting of the Essex and Southend Local Involvement Networks for Health and Social Care (LINk). The meeting is being held on Saturday 28th June, 2008 at Chelmsford City Football Club between 10.00 and 12.30 . This event will give an opportunity to meet the Host organisation, the Council of Ethnic Minority Voluntary Sector Organisations and involve discussion and approval for Governance, Structure, Policies, Logo, strap line and budget.

|| MAYOR OF MALDON'S FUND
To receive and consider the receipts and payments report for the year ending 30 April 2008 for the Mayor of Maldon's Fund. This is entirely separate from the Town Council accounts and holds funds raised by the Town Mayor over the mayoral year for local voluntary groups and charities. These funds are dispersed at the end of each mayoral year.
The accounts (Current and Deposit) are held at Barclays Bank, with the Town Mayor and Town Mayor's Secretary as signatories. The day to day banking was carried out by the Town Mayor's Secretary. The Town Clerk has undertaken the Internal Audit of this account as it is separate from the Town Council accounts.

|| OLDER PERSONS STRATEGY
A draft copy of the Older Persons Strategy for the period April 2008 to April 2011 has been received from the Community Services Officer, Maldon District Council. The Consultation period is from 1st May to 23rd July, 2008. To consider the Town Council's response to this document.

|| BRADWELL LOCAL COMMUNITY LIAISON COUNCIL (LCLC)
An invitation has been received from the LCLC, inviting a representative of the Town Council to attend a meeting to be held on Wednesday, 25th June, 2008 at the Barn Room, Minerva Centre, Roundbush Farm, Burnham Road, Mundon commencing at 10.00 a.m. The meeting will close with a buffet lunch at approximately 13.00. To consider whether a member of the Town Council should attend.

To receive and consider a formal agreement with Essex County Council for the loan of the portrait of George III which previously hung in the Moot Hall.

|| EALC - BUCKINGHAM PALACE GARDEN PARTY
Notification has been received from the EALC that they are likely to be allocated tickets to be a guest at a Buckingham Palace Garden Party in 2009. The Lord Chamberlain has taken the view that invitations should be in recognition of past service and it is therefore appropriate that councils should nominate a Town Mayor having given service of recognition to their community. The nomination will be put in a draw which will be drawn on 24th September. Members are requested to consider if they wish to nominate a Past Town Mayor to enter the draw for tickets.
|| MARKS AND SPENCER
As members will be aware from articles in the local press, Marks and Spencer, Simply Food will be opening in Maldon High Street in the former Budgens Store. Following the announcement, the Town Mayor sent a letter of welcome to Sir Stuart Rose, the Chief Executive who has subsequently responded positively. To help to improve the appearance of the High Street, Marks and Spencer has agreed to display pictures of flowers, drawn by local school children for Maldon in Bloom, on the hoarding which now surrounds the building.
