 13. MAYOR'S ALLOWANCE

Pursuant to Section 15(c) of the Local Government Act 1972 and further to Minute 83.1 of the Town Council Meeting held on 14th December, 2009 to note that the Mayor's allowance has been set at 3,500.00 for the 2010/2011 mayoral year.
 14. APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO SERVE UPON COMMITTEES

All Committee meetings are held at 7.30pm at the Town Hall
 14.1 Finance and General Purposes Committee

This committee shall comprise of:
The Town Mayor and Deputy Town Mayor (Ex-officio) and seven other members.
The first meeting will be held on Monday, 7th June, 2010
 14.2 Planning Committee

This committee shall comprise of:
The Town Mayor and Deputy Town Mayor (Ex-officio) and seven other members.
The first meeting will be held on Monday, 17th May, 2010
 14.3 Environment Committee

This committee shall comprise of:
The Town Mayor and Deputy Town Mayor (Ex-officio) and seven other members.
The first meeting will be held on Monday, 24th June, 2010.

WORKING PARTIES/GROUPS

Maldon in Bloom (Usually mornings - 11.00 a.m.)
To appoint members to serve on the Maldon in Bloom Working Party. 2009-2010 members - Cllrs. Almond, Denyer, Savage, Shrimpton and Stilts
 15.2 Maldon Strategic Action Group

a. To receive a report on the events organised by the groups during the year.

b. To consider the status of the group and, if the group is to continue, to appoint members to serve on this group.

2009-2010 members - Cllrs Bentley, Bunkell, Denyer, Hawkins and Mrs Riesebeck
 15.3 Moot Hall Working Party

a. To consider whether this working party is required now that the lease with the Friends of the Moot Hall has been agreed;

b. If it is to continue, to appoint members to serve on it.

 15.4 Quality Status Working Party

a. To consider whether this working party is required as the status will not need renewal until December 2012;

b. If it is to continue ,to appoint five members to serve upon it.

 15.5 Remembrance Sunday Working Party (Evenings)

To appoint four members to serve upon the Remembrance Sunday Working Party. 2009-2010 members - Cllrs. Almond, Bentley, Denyer, Savage, Shrimpton and Smith.
 15.6 Web Site Working Party

To appoint members to serve on this working party

2009-2010 members - Cllrs. Bentley, Denyer, C MacKenzie and Savage.
 15.7 Support for Young Persons Working Party

To appoint members to serve on the Support for Young Persons Working Party.
 15.8 War Memorial Working Party (4.00pm weekdays)

This working party is a community activity in which the Town Council is working with the Maldon Rotary Club and the Maldon Royal British Legion. To appoint two members.

 20. MODEL STANDING ORDERS

Further to minute of the Town Council meeting held on 15th March, 2010, to receive the revised model Standing Orders for Local Councils prepared by NALC. The revised model orders are significantly different to the ones in use at present and Council may wish to consider holding a separate meeting of the Council for this one item, or to set up a working party to prepare recommendations for Council,

 21. MALDON CARNIVAL

At the request of Cllr. lan Mackenzie, to formulate a clear Town Council policy on its level of support for the Maldon Carnival.
 22. BACKING YOUNG BRITAIN CAMPAIGN

At the request of Cllr. Hawkins to consider if the Town Council should support "Backing Young Britain" a project to create employment opportunities for young people, for which the Dengie Project Trust/One Place is taking a lead across Maldon, Chelmsford, Braintree and Brentwood Districts.
